So, this function satisfied all conditions of continuity thus this function is continuous. Hence we may also define continuity as follows: a function is continuous at xc if the function is defined at xc and if the value of the function at xc equals. In math terms, we would say that f (x) exists. A limit is defined as the value that a function reaches when its independent variable reaches a specified value, and continuity is a critical feature of functions due to the way it interacts with other qualities. Lim x → 4 f (x) = Lim x → 4 5 (4) 3 + Lim x → 4 6 (4) 2 – Lim x → 4 6 Conditions for Continuity The function must have a defined value at this point. For the basic problem in the calculus of variations where the Lagrangian is convex and depends only on the gradient, we establish the continuity of the. How to calculate continuity?Ĭhecked the continuity of the given function 5x 3 + 6x 2 – 6 at x = 4Ĭhecking if the function is defined at x = 4 If both the function f (x) and the function g (x) are continuous at x = a, then their composition is also continuous. Similarly, f (x) + g (x), f (x) - g (x), and f (x) / g (x), given g (a) 0, are likewise continuous at x = a. Why do we use limits in math Limits are an important concept in mathematics because they allow us to define and analyze the behavior of functions as they. If f (x) and g (x) are two continuous functions, then these functions are also continuous at x = a. So, a continuous function has the property that a small change in the input. Knock-offs of real-steel products have been around since the start of this sport so I'm surprised to see a debate here on buying the clone vs buying the original- follow your own conscience. It also is ONLY compatible with the Umarex-branded gen 4 G17- while it might be made to fit a WE or TM gen 4, it certainly won't fit a gen 3 without heavy modification. Their 'Milsim Flux Brace' is larger (with an integral rail on the frame) and IMO starts to creep away from what makes the bog-standard Flux good. This is good since airsoft gen 3s are much easier to come by.įlux does not, and has no apparent intentions to, manufacture the bog-standard Flux brace intended for airsoft use. It is designed for a gen 3 Glock, not a gen 4 like the real Flux. Regarding this clone, I would like to point out two things. It follows the legacy of the Hi-Power and C96 stocked pistols from a century ago, with the convenience of always being available on the gun. The Flux is, IMO, exactly what a pistol carbine should be- it's just a stock extension for a pistol, not a compact rifle frame swallowing up a pistol. It also barely changes the overall profile of the gun, so it still fits fine in soft holsters (although obviously not Serpas or molded holsters). With the Flux brace, you can manipulate the pistol just fine with the brace collapsed, allowing you to use the pistol as a pistol (one handed, in close quarters, etc). They become a primary, which obviously is the point, but somewhat limits flexibility. They become a lot harder to holster, and basically impossible to use as a pistol. My main issue with carbine kits has that they turn your pistol into, well, a carbine. Having converted a Flux to airsoft use, and having used various carbine kits over the years, I really gotta disagree. Ran my TM based 17 in the armourer works kit, bar issues with temperature it was an awesome little toy. This is called "arbitrary unavailability". So while I can figuratively scream at Flux "HERE'S MY THREE HUNDRED BUCKS, TAKE IT, PLEASE!", neither of us is in position to do anything about it. A scope that would probably fail the first, best case maybe second test for military specifications and the only difference between it and dime-a-dozen Chinese you can order from Hong Kong or even AliExpress (so, China directly) is that it was designed and manufactured in the US. You can get a genuine milspec holographic sight without problems in this anus mundi, provided you have 'bout 600 quid to spend on it, and from a local store no less, but somehow, you cannot buy a $60 airsoft scope from an airsoft store in the US. What we're seeing here is the Chinese gleefully undercutting the profits of small American companies with the tacit approval of the military-industrial complex American government. If even Brownell's can't, much less Evike, do you really think that the bureaucratic machine will yield to an even smaller company? Maybe that is what they are in the process is doing. Here’s Why You Should Get Splashtop SOS I won't have this alto forever, so I figured I'd make a few covers using it. not a mouthpiece I would normally use at all on tenor or bari), and Vandoren 2 reeds. It's a Selmer Reference 54, and it's a super nice horn! I'm using a Selmer C* mouthpiece (which, oddly enough, sounds pretty nice on this horn. Pretty happy with how this came out for having so much trouble dealing with the source material!Ī few things to note about the actual recording of this video: first off, I'm playing alto! I'm currently borrowing this alto saxophone from a friend of mine who plays in a Berklee wind ensemble that I am participating in. I made some conscious choices to vary the accompaniment behind each solo so the solos didn't all sound the same! I went with a typical fast swing behind the alto solo, starting off with half time swing in the bari solo (then speeding up later), and going for a more spacey McCoy Tyner + Coltrane-esque tenor solo background section. 9 minute arrangements aren't super common for typical uploads, but I think the variety in this one keeps it from not getting too boring. In the end, I settled on turning the tune into an AABA form, where each A is a minor blues featuring the first statement of the melody from the original recording, and the B section is actually a bebop interpretation of that awesome bari solo at the beginning of the tune! From there, I went through the standard "jam session arrangement" of head, solos, trading, and head out, giving the alto, bari, and tenor all full chorus-long solos, which really pushed the length of this arrangement. I was a bit torn on how much of the source material to include in this version in a way that didn't sound like endlessly playing random solo licks, while also retaining enough spontaneity. I envisioned it with more of a double time feel, switching between an afro-cuban pattern and swing pattern in the rhythm section, which I think works super well! One of the challenges that I faced with this arrangement was how to make sense of the original song, since there's a lot of improvisatory bits, and not really one strong melody that goes throughout the composition. The original version of this theme has a more funky backbeat style to it, which I think suits hearing it in the context of a fighting game. Any game that's crazy enough to create a character whose attacks are all based on musical instruments and is straight up named "Big Band" is definitely a game worth checking out! I really love Big Band's design, especially since it strikes my particular interest in jazz music super well, so I thought it'd be more than appropriate to go full-on bebop jazz with this theme! One of these tracks is this one - Unfinished Business from Skullgirls! Now, full disclosure, I haven't actually played Skullgirls, but I did a fair bit of research on the game and watched quite a bit of footage from the game to really understand the context that this music is heard in. Becaues of all that, I decided to take a bit of a break from the Sinnoh stuff, and cover some other tracks that you guys suggested I give some love to! Hey look, it's a non-Sinnoh cover from insaneintherain during the Year of Sinnoh! Long story short, I was feeling a bit of burnout from focusing just on the Diamond and Pearl stuff, and I felt like I wasn't doing enough service to the viewers, especially viewers who may not be quite as familiar or appreciative of the music of Sinnoh as I am. "You will be prosecuted to the full extent of the jam!" Insaneintherainmusic's jazz cover / remix of Unfinished Business (Under the Bridge / Big Band's theme) from "Skullgirls Encore", composed by Michiru Yamane (山根ミチル). Skullgirls Encore: Unfinished Business (Under the Bridge) Jazz Arrangement Regarding the next few covers, I think I'll be releasing some covers that have been highly requested by folks for a while, maybe a month or so, so 2 or 3 videos, and then probably get back to some Sinnoh stuff soon! I'm currently typing this on Tuesday of this week, since PAX is going on right now! By the time you're reading this, I will have finished my performance on the Main Stage at PAX, and be preparing for my shows at Berklee on Sunday! It's been crazy to prepare for all these performances, but I'm looking forward to the performances themselves, and ALSO for these performances to be over, lol! There's a long writeup about this video in the description! Gotta say, it felt to get back to making covers that aren't from Sinnoh, haha! I've wanted to do something from Skullgirls for quite a while now, and after seeing a few requests for it on my request form, I thought I'd give this one a shot! I went the extra mile and used a costume for this one too, haha. It was one I shot for the sole purpose of testing noise reduction software over four years ago, long before I started writing for Fstoppers. So, I found the noisiest photo I had in my catalog. I was eager to push the software further. Pushing the Noise Reduction to Its Limits I reiterate that none of the AI programs produced bad results. The differences in these results are seen at 100% and are minor. This is, of course, a subjective point of view. It left a very slight and not unpleasant graininess that I preferred to the overly smooth results of Lightroom's denoise tool. Topaz DeNoise used as a plugin for Lightroom. Nevertheless, it will be a welcome addition for those who use Lightroom, especially if they use older cameras and shoot moving subjects in low light. The advancements in sensor technology mean noise reduction is becoming redundant for photographers.Īdobe should have introduced this feature three years ago. Modern cameras perform better than I ever need, and I suspect that is true for many others too. Furthermore, with my newest camera, I can shoot long exposures without having noisy images. I can use my OM-1 at ISO 6,400 or even 12,800 without thinking of applying noise reduction.Įven increasing shadows by two stops, noise is not an issue for me. I swapped to mirrorless Micro Four Thirds, and that doubled again to ISO 1,600, and then to ISO 3,200. My first DSLR I could use up to ISO 400 without the photos becoming too noisy to use. Please excuse the mixing of metaphors, but Adobe’s horse is not only escaping from the stable, but people stopped watching the race it should have been running in. The noise control was pretty good straight out of the camera. Closing the Stable Door After the Horse Has Bolted?Įven in the low light in the shelter of trees and underexposing by -2 EV to darken the background, putting the ISO up to 1,600 gave me 1/16,000th of a second, far faster than I needed to capture this image. Moreover, it will still be a popular plugin with Capture One owners even if it becomes redundant for Lightroom users Capture One does not currently have AI-based noise reduction. Meanwhile, Topaz Denoise, which is not an integral part of an asset management and raw development suite, is not the only tool in that company’s arsenal. The other standalone programs, like DxO Photolab 6, ON1 Photo Raw, and Capture One, are considered with high regard by their users, as they produce very different development results that many of their users prefer. However, there’s more to processing than noise reduction. Given that many people use these AI-based programs as plugins for Lightoom and Photoshop, there is concern that Adobe is creating a monopoly, as these third-party plugins will become redundant. I’ve just tested Lightroom’s new AI-driven noise reduction alongside other programs to see how well that would do compared to the other tools. Some are slightly better than others, but those differences were more to do with speed and usability than noise reduction performance. In the past, I’ve run numerous tests, running the same raw files through each, and every one of them does a more than adequate job. Even camera brands’ proprietary software provides its own AI noise reduction OM Workspace, growing in popularity with OM System users, has AI noise reduction built in.Īll those programs work well. In the case of DXO PhotoLab 6 and ON1 Photo Raw, they have also integrated AI noise reduction into their own asset management and raw development software. Those applications worked well as plugins for Lightroom and Photoshop. There is already an array of AI-based noise reduction programs Topaz DeNoise AI, ON1 NoNoise AI, and DxO Deep Prime all performed much better than Adobe's appallingly bad muddy noise reduction results. |
